Specification:
- The Post Buddy system consists of 2 steel stakes (grade S275) with a cross sectional area to support more than 3 tonnes

- Designed to be driven deep into the underground wood of the broken post by up to 500mm (20”), Post Buddy finds a firm anchor between the wood and the existing concrete base

Align
Loosely attach the 1st screw to the fence post through the centre of the specially designed elongated hole at the top of each Post Buddy stake. This slotted hole allows enough movement for the screw to slide up and down, letting you align and hold the post straight, before finally fully securing your Post Buddy through its remaining 7 screw holes. Anchor
The new improved sawtooth ribbing increases the grip so your Post Buddy stake anchors between the wood and concrete base even more firmly, making it less likely to be pulled from the ground. The ribbing now runs continuously for the bottom 250mm (10”).
Guide
The chisel tip is designed to make it easier to drive your Post Buddy into the ground up to its maximum depth of half a metre. It will guide the fence post repair stake into the ground between the post and the concrete base.
Frequently asked questions
One pack of Post Buddys contains the two steel stakes required to repair one fence post. Each stake is approximately 750 mm long, 25 mm wide and 5 mm thick, with preformed holes for fixing it to the timber post. You will also need suitable external-grade wood screws, such as decking screws, and tools to complete the installation.
The lower part of each stake is driven between the underground timber and the existing concrete base. Sawtooth ribbing helps the stake grip in that position, while screws secure its upper section to the post above ground.
Each stake has a chisel tip that guides it into the correct position between the timber post and its concrete base as you drive it in. This makes it easier to hammer the stake to its full depth of up to 500 mm, or around 20 inches, without it wandering off line.
Yes. The elongated hole near the top of each stake lets you attach the first screw loosely, move the post into line and check it with a spirit level. Once the post is straight, tighten those screws and fix the stakes through the remaining holes.
The stakes are designed to be driven up to 500 mm, or around 20 inches, into the underground section of the post. Follow the marked MAX line and do not drive a stake beyond it.
The stakes are powder coated brown to blend with many garden settings. The upper section remains visible where it is screwed to the post, but the repair does not require a bulky concrete spur beside the fence.
